Optimal Accuracy in Powder Density MeasurementThe Scott Volumeter is engineered to provide superior measurement accuracy for apparent density in powders. Its graduated glass cylinder allows precise visual readings with a resolution of 0.01 g/cm and accuracy of 0.01 g/cm. The four-baffle system helps ensure complete powder de-aeration before measurement, contributing to reliable, repeatable results every time.
Robust and User-Friendly DesignConstructed from polished stainless steel with acrylic or borosilicate glass components, this apparatus is highly durable and easy to clean. Its manual operation requires no power supply, supporting flexibility in laboratory and industrial environments. Dismantling and reassembly is straightforward, making maintenance simple and ensuring consistent performance.
FAQs of Scott Volumeter Apparent Density Tester Meter:
Q: How does the Scott Volumeter Apparent Density Tester operate?
A: The Scott Volumeter is a manual device that measures the apparent density of powders by allowing a sample to flow through a precision funnel into a graduated cylinder, where the volume is read directly. The process uses a four-baffle system which ensures the powder is properly de-aerated before collecting in the cylinder.
Q: What types of materials can be tested with this apparatus?
A: This instrument is suitable for free-flowing powders, including both metallic and non-metallic materials. It is commonly used in laboratories, industrial settings, and research applications that require density measurements conforming to standards ASTM B329 and ISO 3923-1.
Q: Where is the Scott Volumeter typically used?
A: The Volumeter is designed for use in laboratory, research, and industrial environments, especially where accurate powder density determination is essential. Its bench-top mounting and robust build make it suitable for testing facilities and production control labs.
Q: What is the process for conducting an apparent density test with this equipment?
A: A sample (typically 25-50g as per ASTM B329) is weighed, poured into the funnel, and passed through the four-baffle system to the graduated cylinder. The powders volume is then read visually, and the apparent density is calculated by dividing the mass by the measured volume.
Q: When should this tester be used?
A: Use the Scott Volumeter whenever you require precise and repeatable measurement of the apparent density of free-flowing powders, such as for quality control, formulation, or research in metallurgy or material science.
Q: What is the benefit of using the Scott Volumeter Apparent Density Tester Meter?
A: This device provides immediate, accurate results without needing electricity or complex electronics. Its design minimizes sample handling errors and supports compliance with international standards, making it highly valuable for consistent density measurement.
