Product Description
Bulk Density Apparatus
In accordance with ASTM B213,ISO4490,ISO 3923,GB/T1482,GB/T1479,hall flowability tester has been widely applicated to determain flowability and bulk density for metal powder or other powder.Any powder can pass through funnel with 2.5mm standard diameter aperture.it can be tested by using this machine.
Principle:The flowability of metal powder can be indicated as the time needs when 50g metal powder pass through standard funnel with specified aperture.
Structure:
(1)Funnel(diameter of aperture 2.5mm,5mm)
The funnel is made up of brass.the inner surface has been polished specially.which makes it very smoothly.Besides, sufficient thickness and hardness can avoid from transformation and excessive wear.
2.5mm aperture for measuring flowability,5.0mm aperture for measuring bulk density.
(2)Holder,base and receiver
Holder is used to fix funnel.Base is used to install holder and receiver.
(3)Digital scale:maximum weight is 1kg.weight resolution is 0.02g.
(4)Chronograph:0.1s
(5)Measuring cup
Diameter 31mm 25ml brass measuring cup.

FAQ's of Bulk Density Apparatus:
Q: How is bulk density measured with this apparatus?
A: Bulk density is measured by placing the powder sample in one of the borosilicate glass cylinders, which is then tapped at 25-30 taps per minute by the apparatus. The cylinder volume and sample mass are used to calculate bulk density, and results are read using the analog scale.
Q: What safety features does the Bulk Density Apparatus provide?
A: The apparatus incorporates a transparent front panel to prevent spillage and protect the user during operation. Additionally, the sturdy construction of powder-coated mild steel and premium glass cylinders ensure long-term safety and durability in laboratory use.
Q: When should this apparatus be used in the laboratory testing process?
A: Use this apparatus whenever you need to determine the bulk density of powders or granules, such as during material quality control, formulation development, or research analysis, especially when compliance with USP and IP standards is required.
Q: Where is the Bulk Density Apparatus best installed and used?
A: This device is designed for bench-top mounting and is ideal for controlled laboratory environments in pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries. Its compact footprint (350 x 300 x 330 mm) fits conveniently on most laboratory benches.
Q: What is the sample capacity and measuring range of the apparatus?
A: The apparatus can hold up to three specimens using 50 ml, 100 ml, or 250 ml cylinders. It measures bulk density in the range of 0.01 to 3.0 g/cm3, with a resolution of 0.01 g/cm3 for high-precision requirements.
Q: How does manual control benefit laboratory users?
A: Manual operation allows users direct oversight of the testing process, ensuring flexibility and quick adjustments when needed. The immediate response and fixed tapping speed facilitate efficient, repeatable testing in fast-paced or high-throughput laboratories.
Q: What are the advantages of having a mechanical timer included?
A: The mechanical timer ensures precise control over tapping time without additional electronic programming, making it easy to reproduce standard test protocols and improve the reliability of test results.
