Application:
Paper and paper absorbency testers are conventional instruments for the water absorption test of paper and paperboard, also known as paper surface absorption weight gauges.
Principle:
Paper and paperboard surface water absorption (Cobb) value: the amount of water absorbed by the surface of the paper and paperboard per unit area under a certain pressure and temperature within a specified time, its calculated by g/m2. The specific formula is as following: C (G2 G1) 100. Where: C-Cobb absorption value, G2-sample mass after water absorption, G1-sample mass before water absorption. The paper and board absorbency tester is a conventional instrument for the water absorption test of paper and paperboard, also known as a paper surface absorption weight tester. This instrument uses the Cobb test method in various methods of absorption test, so it is also called the absorbable absorbability tester.
Standards:
This instrument is designed according to the basic parameters and requirements specified in ISO 535 paper and paperboard - water absorption measurement (Bob method), GB/T1540-2002 paper and paperboard water absorption measurement method. This standard is suitable for determining the water absorption of various paper or board surfaces. It does not apply to the accurate evaluation of the writing performance of paper or cardboard.
