Product Description
Electric Melt Index Tester Melting Index Meter Melt Flow Rate Instrument DH-EI-BP
This series of melt indexer is specially designed for fast and accurate measurement. It has the characteristics of firm structure, easy operation, stable and reliable performance. It uses high-precision PID thermostat technology, high temperature control precision, nitriding of key parts, high strength and hardness. The thermal expansion deformation is small. DH-EI-BP is the model with an electric loading weight with automatic cutting function.which means the weights is placed on the weight bracket in advance for electric loading and unloading, reducing manual operation.
Usage:
It is used to determine the melt mass rate flow rate MFR value or melt volume rate flow rate MVR value of various plastics and resin polymers in the viscous flow state. It is suitable for polycarbonate, polyarylsulfone, fluoroplastics and nylon which has higher melting temperature. It is also suitable for polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP), ABS resin, polyoxymethylene (POM), and polycarbonate (PC) resins.which has lower melting temperatures
Remarks: Testing fluorine material is optional

FAQ's of Electric Melt Index Tester Melting Index Meter Melt Flow Rate Instrument:
Q: How is the Electric Melt Index Tester used to measure melt flow rate of thermoplastics?
A: The tester measures the melt flow rate (MFR) of thermoplastic materials by heating a resin sample in its stainless steel barrel and applying a selected plunger weight. The melt flows through a die, and the amount extruded over time is measured automatically with graphical and tabular data output provided via software.
Q: What types of specimens and materials are compatible with this Melt Index Tester?
A: The instrument is designed for standard granular or powder resin specimens, suitable for various thermoplastic polymers. Different plunger weights can be selected based on the resin type to ensure accurate results.
Q: When should I choose manual or automatic cutting methods during testing?
A: Manual cutting provides operator control for special cases, while automatic cutting ensures consistent timing for routine and repetitive testing. The choice depends on your process requirements and the resin characteristics being analyzed.
Q: Where can this equipment be installed and what support is available?
A: This melt index tester is a benchtop unit suitable for laboratories, manufacturing facilities, and research institutions. Onsite installation and training services are available, ensuring users receive proper setup and hands-on instruction.
Q: What is the benefit of using a microprocessor-based automatic control system in the Melt Flow Rate Instrument?
A: Microprocessor-based automatic control enables precise temperature regulation (0.2C stability) and repeatability, reduces manual intervention, and enhances data reliability for polymer quality assessment.
Q: How does the alarm function enhance safe operation?
A: The equipment features over-temperature and process completion alerts, which notify users of unsafe conditions or when the test is finished, thereby preventing errors and improving workplace safety.
Q: What data output options are available for reporting test results?
A: Test results can be exported in both graphical and tabular formats via USB or RS232 interfaces, simplifying integration with laptops or laboratory information systems for further analysis or record-keeping.
