Product Description
Fabric Martindale Abrasion Testing Machine Martindale Testing Equipment
Summary
Martindale abrasion tester subjects a circular specimen (38mm in diameter, and effective diameter is 28.8mm) to a defined load and rubs against an abrasive medium (i.e. standard fabric) in a translational movement tracing a Lissa-jous figure. The specimen holder, containing either specimen or abrasive medium depending on which method is being used, is additionally freely rotatable around its own axis perpendicular to the plane of the horizontal. The evaluation of the abrasion resistance of the textile fabric is determined from the inspection interval to breakdown, the mass loss the test specimens, assessment of the appearance change.

FAQs of Fabric Martindale Abrasion Testing Machine Martindale Testing Equipment:
Q: How does the Martindale Abrasion Testing Machine test fabric durability?
A: It simulates natural wear by moving specimens in a defined, oscillating pattern against an abradant material under controlled pressure, measuring abrasion resistance and pilling over a preset number of cycles.
Q: What types of textile materials can be tested with this equipment?
A: The device is suitable for a range of textiles, including woven, knitted, and nonwoven fabrics, following standards such as ISO 12947, ASTM D4970, and EN 530.
Q: When should I use this machine for my textile testing needs?
A: Use it during research, development, and quality control phases to evaluate and compare fabric wear characteristics, ensuring products meet international durability standards.
Q: Where is the installation service available for this equipment?
A: Onsite installation and training are available to all customers, ensuring correct setup and optimal use by your laboratory team.
Q: What is the process for conducting an abrasion or pilling test with this machine?
A: Select the number of heads, attach fabric specimens, load abradant and weights, set test parameters on the touch screen, and initiate the test. The machine performs cycles automatically and provides results once the target count or automatic stop is triggered.
Q: How does the machines digital control benefit my laboratory testing workflow?
A: The LCD touch screen offers real-time monitoring and control, precise cycle settings, memory for test results, and alarm functions for unattended operation, streamlining the testing process.
