1. Reel
The reel consists of 6 lobes, which enable the skein to get a hexagonal shape when the yarn is winded on the reel. One of the lobes is designed with a movable structure so that the skein can be taken down conveniently to avoid tension effect on the skein during doffing
2. Tension of reeling
A tension regulator consisting of two open-type parallel tension regulating rods is used to regulate
the tension of reeling through varying the wrapping angle of the yarn on the tension rod. And the tension is measured at the same time by a lever-type tension scale.
3. Drive system
The drive system is installed in a casing to prevent it from dust contamination and ensure its reliability during operation. The rotary movement of the reel and the reciprocal traverse movement for reeling are driven separately by two independent motors.
3.1 Reel drive
The reel is driven by an independent DC motor through a carrying shaft and a pair of belt pulleys. The rotational speed of the reel can be varied infinitely by the electric control. The reel can start smoothly and slow down by itself when entering into the last turn of a preset number of turns before it stops automatically at the preset number of turns. The reel can stop at a specified position properly and smoothly.
3.2 Reciprocal traverse movement for reeling
A cam is driven by an independent synchronous motor at a constant speed to push the traverse thread guide to make traverse movements reciprocally at a constant speed, so that the yarn is winded in a reciprocal traverse movement. The wide range of this reciprocal traverse movement makes it possible to reduce the number of overlapped layers in yarn winding.
4. Control device for the number of turns in a skein
The number of turns in a skein is preset by a manual dial on the computer. The number of turns that is being completed by the reel is picked up by a non-contact switch and converted into a signal, which is displayed in digital form on the counter as the number of turns realized by the reel. The precise counter ensures that the number of turns in a skein can be selected and controlled in a correct manner.
